Over 11 hours of competition, Switzerland's surf elite impressed with exceptional skills, despite modest surf conditions. Highlights abounded, with four waves earning the "Excellent" seal, scoring between 8 and 10 points. The standout performance came from 17-year-old Fantin Habashi, who scored the day's best wave with an 8.83 for his impressive turn combination.

Sunshine and Good Vibes

The event took place under clear, sunny skies, paired with a refreshing breeze, creating an idyllic atmosphere. The positive energy of the crowd complemented the athletes’ performances, making the first day of the competition a resounding success.

Swiss Surfing Association’s Growing Community

With 85 participants across seven divisions, Contest Director Dario Müller highlighted the event’s significance and the growing popularity of surfing within and beyond Switzerland.

A Generation Shift in Swiss Surfing

The 2021 championship marked a generational shift, with young athletes rising to the top across all categories. The biggest surprise came in the “Surf Men” division, where 15-year-old Antoine Habashi stunned the crowd by claiming first place, ahead of his older brother Fantin and annual title contender Swen Zaugg. Another 15-year-old, Rivan Rock Rosskopf, secured third place, completing a youth-dominated podium and leaving the older competitors in awe.
